5 Vocabulary: INTEGERS The set of positive whole numbers, their opposites, and zero. (Ex: -2, -1, 0, +1, +2) -9, -8, -7, -6, -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

6 Vocabulary: OPPOSITES
Pairs of numbers that are the same distance on a number line from zero. (Ex: -7 & +7)

7 Vocabulary: POSITIVE NUMBERS
Numbers whose value is greater than zero. (Ex: +4 & +9)

8 Vocabulary: NEGATIVE NUMBERS
Numbers whose value is less than zero. (Ex: -3 & -8)

9 Vocabulary: ABSOLUTE VALUE
The distance from zero to an integer on the number line. Absolute values are always neutral (neither + nor -).

13 Parts of a Number Line Bigger numbers are to the RIGHT
Smaller numbers are to the LEFT

14 Place +5, -4, +2, 0, and -2 on a number line
Place +5, -4, +2, 0, and -2 on a number line. Then write them in order from least to greatest. REMEMBER… Bigger numbers are to the RIGHT Smaller numbers are to the LEFT From least to greatest: -4, -2, 0, 2, 5 Example 1.
