6 PURPOSE & HYPOTHESIS  The purpose of this study is to evaluate the attitudes and knowledge of high school parents towards concussions and to see if differences exist between parents of different sports and/or different schools.  Parents will report that the Heads Up program is not effective in providing concussion education because parents are not required to demonstrate that they know and understand the information provided, as they are only required to sign a release form implying they have received and reviewed the materials.

7 METHODS  Parents of high school student athletes at 13 different high schools  300 parents will be recruited via parents meetings and/or games at the 13 different high schools  Selection Criteria:  Inclusion: Parent or guardian of any high school student athlete  Exclusion: n/a

8 PROCEDURES  Recruit parents at any of the 13 high schools  Survey via  Ipad, and/or paper

9 VARIABLES  Dependent:  Attitudes about concussions  Knowledge about concussions  Independent:  Sport  Gender  High School
