2 Project consortium Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (coordinator) Royal College of Music in Stockholm The Hamburg University of Music and Theatre National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance of Lyon European Association of Conservatoires (AEC)

3 The main goal of the project is to develop a new platform of contemporary music that proceeds from current European cultural contexts

4 CoPeCo (2010 – 2013) The joint masters curriculum will be developed in two years During the third year it will be tested with students’ participation to make adjustments Joint admission will be opened in spring 2013

5 CoPeCo budget Total estimated budget 281 355 EUR Out of which EU Grant 207 890 EUR (73,89%)

6 Innovative Aspects

7 1. Crossdisciplinary approach Up-to-date crossdisciplinary broad-based study of music in the context of contemporary cultural background. Lectures on contemporary dance, literature, visual arts, cinema, theatre included in the programme Crossdisciplinary collaboration projects with departments of choreography, art academies, theatre academies etc.

8 2. Active cooperation between composition and performance departments Joint study platform for students of composition and performance. The study programme is organized offering intensive cooperation and interaction between the students and the departments

9 3. New perspectives Integrating studies of free improvisation and experimental music into the curriculum of contemporary music

10 4. New technology Study of music technology for students of composition and interpretation. Preparation for creating projects with live electronics and multimedia Study of new media. Preparation for creating and presenting artistic projects by the means of new media

11 5. Arts management Production and management of an artistic project in collaboration with departments of Cultural management

15 Workpackage 3: Quality Plan Lead partner: The Hamburg University of Music and Theatre Local quality assurance Multilateral quality assurance (implementing a specific quality management system) Monitoring national developments in the awarding of multiple and joint degrees

16 Workpackage 4: Dissemination Lead partner: Royal College of Music in Stockholm Development of the dissemination strategy Dissemination of information about the methodology and objectives of the project, its development and final results
