2 What to do  Work with a partner.  Use a dictionary to find the words in bold.  The blue cards have quotes from Act 1 of Hamlet. The pink cards have a picture of the person who said it and an explanation of what they meant.  Match each blue card with a pink card.

3 Hamlet says that he will pretend to be mad.

4 Claudius says that he loves Hamlet like a father loves his son.

5 The ghost says that Queen Gertrude seemed to be a good person.

6 Hamlet says that the ghost is telling the truth when he says that he is his father.

7 Claudius says that he is sad because Hamlet’s father is dead.

8 Hamlet says that he is really upset inside, not just wearing mourning clothes.
