 Mechanisms change the direction of motion to make tasks easier.(Pulleys)  Machines do many different tasks, such as tasks that are too difficult, time consuming or too dangerous for humans to do.

 Machines are composed of one or more mechanisms.  A mechanism changes one form of motion to another form of movement.

 It is easier to push down than to lift a heavy weight because of gravity.  Changing the direction of the force makes it easier to get the job done.(Levers)  Mechanisms also change the value of forces. The value of power increase, it allows us to use a small force to lift a heavy load to.

 The movement we apply is called the input motion. Process A mechanism changes the motion and delivers a different kind of movement, the movement is called output.

 We can use different levers to make our lives comfortable. Levers are divided into three different classified classes depending on how the fulcrum, load and effort is arranged.

 A lever is a rigid rod that turns around a point called a fulcrum. It is used to change the direction of a force, to transmit a force over a distance, and to increase the value of a force.  The weight that needs to be lifted is called the load.  The force that has to be applied to lift the load is called the effort.

 Mechanisms change the direction of motion to make tasks easier? (True/False)  Machines are composed of one mechanism? (True/False)  A mechanism changes one form of motion to another motion? (True/False)  Why is it easier to push down than to lift a heavy object?

 Changing the direction of force makes it easier to get the job done? (True/False)  Explain what is the difference between input motion and output motion.  List 5 example of machines  Levers are divided into three categories which are known as:  Draw and label the 3 classes of levers and list one examples for each lever.

(True/False)  Why is it easier to push down than to lift a heavy object? Because you use the same motion as gravity

 Changing the direction of force makes it easier to get the job done? (True/False)  Explain what is the difference between input motion and output motion.  The movement we apply is called the input motion. A mechanism changes the motion and delivers a different kind of movement, the movement is called output.

 List 5 example of machines  Levers are divided into three categories which are known as:  Fulcrum; Effort and the Load  Draw and label the 3 classes of levers and list one examples for each lever.
