1 16th International Symposium Combined Endurance and Strength Training for Physical Fitness and Sports Performance: From Science to Practice Organized by The Department of Biology of Physical Activity University of Jyväskylä September 23-25, 2015 @ISBPAJYU #ISBPA15 facebook.com/isbpajyu

2 W e l c o m e The Department of Biology of Physical Activity welcomes you to the 16th International Symposium entitled: “Combined endurance and strength training for physical fitness and sports performance: From science to practice”. Our International Symposium in 2015 continues the intensive course series of our Department that has been organized since 1995 at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences in the University of Jyväskylä. To our knowledge this 16th Symposium in 2015 is the world’s first International Congress with the primary focus on combined endurance and strength training for recreational and athletic purposes. The scientific program is composed of about 30 oral presentations by world leading researchers and coaches from more than 10 countries. During the course of the symposium, the strengths and weaknesses of combining endurance and strength training within the same training program will be scientifically evaluated based on experimental research and later applied into practice in a variety of sports. Based on the list of invited speakers as well as the exceptionally large number of registered participants, we are confident that our Symposium will be a success. On behalf of the organizers, we wish you a scientifically and socially successful Symposium! Prof. Keijo Häkkinen, PhDMoritz Schumann, M.Sc.
