4 Recreation National sport: Cricket. Also enjoy board games and marbles. Boys like kites while girls enjoy crafts. Both sexes enjoy playing Kho Kho and Khabbadi, which are other versions of tag. A popular recreational activity is Carom, which fits in the Billiards family.

6 Kinship Some families will throw their teeth on their roof and ask the sparrow to bring them a new one. Dating practices of western countries are not common in India, although urban residents are affected by western standards. Traditional marriages are still arranged by parents often with the consent of the bride and groom Marriage is sacred to most Indians. Families are generally large. The elderly are respected. The father is head of house hold. Middle or upper class father is expected to financially take care of the children.

7 Education They have Public and private based schools. The Nalanda University was the oldest University system in the world. Only 15% of kids make it to High School, and 7% graduate of the 15%. 57% of college teachers lack a PHD or Masters Degree. They have made progress in terms of increasing Primary Education attendance rate and expanding Literacy The private education market is at 5%, but is worth $40 Billion.

8 Religion They are very diverse language wise, and the population is mainly Hindu (82%). Others include Muslim (12%), Christian (2%), Sikhism (2%). They have over 300 languages that they use in India. English is good for politics, but their national language is Hindi. The Hindus use to believe in a structure called the caste system. It works by your popularity in the system

9 Artistic Indian women wear Sarees. They also wear red dots on their heads when they are married. Men wear turbans, and most modern clothes. The Taj Mahal palace in India was created by the idea of Turkish, Indian, and Persian styles The Hawa Mahal, or the Wind Palace, is part of the city palace and has 953 small windows. There is also a city that is painted blue. It is called Jodhpur. A man by the name of Tyeb Mehta is a well known artist in India.
