Many societies do have an executive director, or administrator, or independent contractor, or temps, or vendors who specialize in society support Executive directors - full time (most expensive); strategic plus operational activities Administrators – varying levels, tend to be more operational than strategic Salaries: $45K -100K/year; times 2 loaded cost; times the % part-time (~$20K/y for 1 day/week)

2 Duties for Part-time Staff Support the Pres., VPs, Sec/Treas, EiC, DL, Comm. Chairs… with admin details. Some specifics: Keep governing docs, AdCom list, website… up-to-date Keep SC records, archives Keep a calendar – major events, appointments needed, etc. Follow up on action items (send reminders, as needed) Exhibit booths – reservations, shipments, forms… Warehouse inventory – flyers, journals, posters…; order supplies in advance of need Awards – order certificates, plaques, checks… Keep the AdCom informed
