2. “Come ride in my boat,” said Mr. Hippo.
“We will have a picnic.”

3. Miss Hippo got in the boat.
“Uh oh,” she said.
“I have the hiccups.”

4. “I have a thermos.
I will pour some tea,” said Mr. Hippo.
“Oh, good,” Miss Hippo said. “Tea will stop my hiccups.”

5. “That’s not what I meant!” she said.
“Okay,” said Mr. Hippo.
“This will stop your hiccups.”
Suddenly he threw the tea in her face!
“That’s not what I meant!” she said.

6. Miss Hippo’s face was wet.
Mr. Hippo got in the boat.

7. Miss Hippo liked her sandwich. Mr. Hippo was eating an apple.
Miss Hippo’s face was wet.

8. “I have the hiccups again.”
“Uh oh,” said Miss Hippo.

9. “BOO!” yelled Mr. Hippo.
He was very loud.
Miss Hippo was scared .
The picnic basket went in the water.

10. “See?” said Mr. Hippo.
He smiled. “I can scare hiccups away.”

11. “Uh oh,” she said.
“I have the hiccups again.”

12. Mr. Hippo raised the oar over his head.
Miss Hippo was worried.

13. The oar hit Miss Hippo’s head.
Her umbrella went in the water.

14. “See?” said Mr. Hippo.
“Your hiccups are gone.”

15. “Uh oh,” she said.
“I have the hiccups again.
And they’re really bad.”

16. Suddenly, Mr. Hippo pushed Miss Hippo.

17. Miss Hippo went into the water.
She made a big SPLASH!

18. “Here,” said Mr. Hippo. “I will pull you into the boat.”

19. “Now I will get your umbrella for you.
See?” said Mr. Hippo.
“Your hiccups are gone.”

20. “Huh!” said Miss Hippo. “I want to get out,” she said.
“Now we can have a nice boat ride,” said Mr. Hippo.

21. “Let me help you get out of the boat.”
“Here, take my hand,” said Mr. Hippo.

22. “Uh oh,” Mr. Hippo said.
“Now I have the hiccups!”

23. “Let me help you stop your hiccups,” said Miss Hippo.

24. “See?,” she said.
“I can stop your hiccups.”

25. “BOO!” she yelled.
It scared Mr. Hippo so much he jumped.

26. “See?” said Miss Hippo.
“I helped you, just like you helped me.
Your hiccups are gone.”

27. “Bye,” she said.
