4 Review- AFTER WWI… Germany agreed to an armistice on November 11 th, 1918 (This ended WWI) Peace terms were imposed on the Germans in 1919 (Treaty of Versailles) German soldiers did not believe they had been defeated Germany was in a state of economic chaos- Food shortages and a high death toll during WWI The Weimar Republic had many problems. First, most German people were upset with it because it signed the hated Treaty of Versailles which ended World War I. Second, the Weimar Republic could not solve many of the economic problems facing the country. Two of the most important problems were INFLATION and UNEMPLOYMENT.
