Choose a roommate you met at SOAR! Choose a roommate you already know who is a first year student Choose to be randomly assigned a roommate based on UDM Housing Survey. Survey includes information about Study Habits, Cleanliness, and smoking preferences. Roommate requests can be made today at the Housing and Residence Life table, via your application, or by email at Reslife@udmercy.eduReslife@udmercy.edu During the first three weeks of the semester there is a housing freeze during which any room changes would be on an emergency basis only. The room freeze at the beginning of each semester allows us to accurately verify who arrived on campus and what vacant spaces there are. Should your student have an issue with their roommate during the time of a housing freeze, they would meet with their RA or the Shiple Assistant Director to assess their need for an emergency move. After the room freeze, we work with students to deal with any roommate concerns they may have and facilitate a room change if needed. Any maintenance or housekeeping concerns that your student has can be reported online to the Maintenance Request system at udmercy.edu/reslife. If the request is an emergency, your student can contact their RA and they will make sure that the issue gets addressed.
