NCP Infoday, Brussels, 23 June 2010 3 Proposed Workprogramme 2011-2012 Overview of the calls… Call 7 Low carbon multi-modal mobility and freight transport ICT for low-carbon multi-modal freight and logistics ICT for clean and efficient multi-modal mobility Call 8 Cooperative Systems for energy efficient and sustainable mobility Cooperative Systems for low-carbon multi-modal mobility European Wide Service Platform (EWSP) for cooperative system enabled services Green Car: ICT for the Fully Electric Vehicle Integration of FEV in the cooperative infrastructure

NCP Infoday, Brussels, 23 June 2010 freight and logistics a)ICT for low-carbon multi-modal freight and logistics covering technologies and services for multi-modal freight and logistics using new technologies for building new services and integrating different transport modes mobility b) ICT for clean and efficient multi-modal mobility for further improving energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions in all modes of transport for passengers and goods c) Coordination and Support Actions Proposed Workprogramme 2011-2012 Proposed Workprogramme 2011-2012 Low carbon multi-modal mobility and freight transport Call 7IPs, STREPs: 46M€ CSA: 4M€ 4

NCP Infoday, Brussels, 23 June 2010 Objective 6.6: Objective 6.6: Low carbon multi-modal mobility and freight transport (1) mobility of people and goods = 30% of the total energy consumption in the EU –applying ICT = over 25% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in transport the logistics sector is largely inefficient today with load factors around 65% only –We need to ensure: open platforms for transport logistics, based on intelligent cargo systems interoperable global standardised servi ces the capability to choose the best transport mode requires easy-to-use information services mobility of people and goods across borders 5 Why?

NCP Infoday, Brussels, 23 June 2010 Target outcome: freight and logistics a) ICT for low-carbon multi-modal freight and logistics covering technologies and services for multi-modal freight and logistics  integration of transportation networks through transfer points  intermodal interoperable logistics management systems and Intelligent Cargo systems mobility b) ICT for clean and efficient multi-modal mobility for further improving energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions in all modes of transport for passengers and goods  new tools, systems and services  methodologies for assessing the impact c) Coordination and Support Actions in the framework of the Intelligent Car Initiative Objective 6.6: Objective 6.6: Low carbon multi-modal mobility and freight transport (2) IP STREP CSA IP STREP 6

NCP Infoday, Brussels, 23 June 2010 Expected Impact  Strengthened position of Europe's logistics and freight industries in the marketplace for low-carbon products and services  Significant improvements in efficiency and environmental friendliness of mobility and transport in Europe; target: 25% reduction in GHG emissions in transport  Full integration of intelligent cargo items into the multi-modal transport infrastructure, with special emphasis on urban multi-modal logistics  Widening the market for new ICT-based mobility and transport services in Europe and worldwide. Objective 6.6: Objective 6.6: Low carbon multi-modal mobility and freight transport (3) 7
