2 Northwest Arkansas Community Parent Resource Center (NWACPRC) We provide training and information services for parents of children with disabilities. We serve parents of children ages birth through 26 with the full range of disabilities as described in IDEA.

4 NWACPRC is funded by

5 1: Training and information for parents of infants and preschool age children NWACPRC Goals Our goal was to train 50 parents or caregivers on normal growth and development. We trained 112.

6 2: Training and information for parents of younger school age children NWACPRC Goals We disseminated information and received 21,848 hits on our various media outlets.

7 3: Training and information for parents of youth transitioning from high school NWACPRC Goals Our goal was 10 students and we identified 45.

8 4: Training and information for professionals working with limited English proficient parents/children, foster parents/ children, children with mental illness/ developmental disabilities, children with involvement in juvenile justice. NWACPRC Goals

9 School-To-Work High School Transition Program Springdale High & Har-Ber High Prevocational assistance to students attending high school on IEP track, starting at age 14.

10 We offer many trainings addressing a variety of topics: IDEA & 504 IEP Transition (PreK, Middle, HS) Specific Disability information Sensory Integration Communicating with schools and professionals Parent Advocacy Special Needs Trust and Guardianship Assistive Technology Many of our trainings and/or materials are in English, Spanish and Marshallese. We also have a resource library containing books, DVDs, binders, brochures, and pamphlets on disability resources. Trainings for Parents and Professionals

11 NWA CPRC of Arkansas Support Network continues to strive to increase working relationships with local organizations. We collaborate with programs such as: Head Start and Child Care Aware Child development centers Mental health agencies Juvenile detention centers Educational cooperatives Local schools By doing this we hope to provide quality programming and supports to those in our community.
