9 DUAL ENROLLMENT Definition: a high school student is enrolled both in high school and in college simultaneously. The student receives both high school and college credit for the same class. Qualifications are as follows: A junior or senior in high school 3.0 or higher GPA 19 or higher on ACT in English and Reading (if the course does NOT involve math skills) 19 or higher on ACT in Math and Reading Dual Enrollment Grant: A grant for study that is funded from the HOPE scholarship fund. Eligibility requirements for the grant: GPA of at least a 3.o ACT score of at least a 21 Application: www.pstcc.edu/admissions/dual.html

10 TESTING ACT EXPLORE: Pre-ACT for all 8 th graders. Given in November of each year. ACT PLAN: Pre-ACT for all 10 th graders. Given in January of each year. PSAT: Pre-SAT for all 11 th graders. Given in October of each year. This is the qualifying exam for 11 th graders in the National Merit Scholarship. ACT: American College Test. Taken in the spring of 11 th grade and fall of 12 th grade. SAT: Scholastic Aptitude Test: Taken in the spring of 11 th grade and fall of 12 th grade. SAT Subject Tests: Required by selective colleges; consult the college’s admission requirements
