2 Cancer! Uncontrolled cell growth. Often results in a tumor which is a large mass of cells. Tumors cause the tissue it is located in to stop functioning correctly. They can also impair the function of surrounding tissues. Cancer cells can be ‘benign’ or ‘metastatic” Benign cancers are isolated to one area of the body and curable. Metastatic cancers spread throughout the body and are difficult to cure.
