Scope & Objectives The NGMN NGCOR requirements are defining the scope and objectives of Converged Management of Fixed & Mobile Networks: At present: Inventory management Converged operations Modeling and tooling Fault Management In future: All OSS functionalities like performance, configuration and inventory management (3GPP and TMF to specify) Operations requirements for Cloud Based RAN Operations requirements for Evolved Backhaul Operations requirements for massively deployed Femtocells Support of autonomic and cognitive networking and self management (ETSI/AFI to specify) Current activities in Joint Working Groups of 3GPP and TM Forum: Model alignment Fault management harmonisation 3

Terms of Reference (1) Commonly agreed scope, objectives, workplan, milestones Open for all industry organisations, SDOs and their members/participants Consensus driven Roles and responsibilities of participating industry organisations and SDOs –Ownership of results is decided by the industry organisations and SDOs –Working procedures are decided by the industry organisations and SDOs Each participant carrying its own costs Sponsorship of meetings by participants 4

Terms of Reference (2) Joint Coordination Group (JCG): Discuss NGCOR requirements and agree on work needed Coordination of work in scope JCG in consultation with potential JWG members to decide on scope and goal and expected timelines to be captured in a project specific letter Participants representing industry organisations and/or SDOs Initial chairmanship (2 years): NGMN Operating Officer Secretariat (2 years): NGMN Legal Counsel Joint Working Groups (JWG): Ad hoc Groups on an as-needed basis staffed by members/participants Progress and results presented to JCG on a regular basis Conflicts to be resolved as much as possible in JWG Ownership of results is decided by the industry organisations and SDOs participating in the JWG Working procedures are decided by the industry organisations and SDOs participating in the JWG 5
