6 New Performance Measures-- Criteria & CFCC’s Performance

7 √ 1. Progress of Basic Skills Students Standard: 75% of all adult literacy students are expected to progress within a level, complete a level or advance to next level. CFCC: 2006=78% 2007=79% 2008=77% 2009=77%

Passing Rates on Licensure and Certification Examinations by First Time Test Takers To meet the minimum standard must have 80% aggregate institutional passing rate CFCC: 91% in 2006 & 92% in 2007; 93% in 2008; 93% in 2009 BUT… to qualify for PERFORMANCE FUNDING MUST ALSO have a minimum of 70% passing rate on any single reported exam. CFCC: met in 2006, missed 1 test in 2007; met in 2008; met in 2009 ACTION PLAN DEVELOPED FOR 2007

Performance of College Transfers To meet the minimum standard 83% of transfers will have a 2.0 gpa or higher after two semesters at a 4-year college but, to qualify for PERFORMANCE FUNDING must meet below- The % of transfer students with a 2.0 gpa or higher after two semesters at a 4-year will equal or exceed the percentage of native students. Continued

10 2006 Standard = 86.8% CFCC = 81.1% 2007 Standard = 86.2% CFCC = 80.4%: 76.6%- >24 sem hrs; 83.6%- Assoc. Degree recipients 2008 Standard = 87% CFCC = 84% (84% & 85%) 2009 Standard = 87% CFCC = 86% (86% & 86%)

11 4. Passing Rates of Students in Developmental Courses Standard: 75% of students completing a developmental course will earn a “C” or better. CFCC: 2006-63% (Math-60%, English-67%) 2007-64% (Math-64%, English-63%) 2008-CIS Issue, standard waived for CFCC 2009-80% (Math-83%, English-76%)

Success Rates of Developmental Students in Subsequent College-Level Courses Standard: There will be no statistically significant difference in the performance of developmental students as compared to the performance of students not required to take developmental courses. CFCC: Met in 2006 for Yr 04-05. *In 2007 NCCCS hadn’t developed the programming needed to collect data, so 20 schools didn’t meet the standard 2008-CIS Issue, standard waived for CFCC +4 *Source: Keith Brown, NCCCS

13 Standard for 2009- 80% of students who completed a developmental course in 2006-07 and completed subsequent college level course in 2007-08 will have a passing grade for the college level course. CFCC: 2009=81% (Math-86%; English-79%)

14 √ 6. Student Satisfaction of Completers & Non-Completers Standard: 90% Satisfaction Rate CFCC: 2006 = 96% 2007 = 98% 2008 = 97% 2009 = 97%

15 √ 7. Curriculum Student Retention, Transfer & Graduation Standard: 65% of the fall cohort will complete a curriculum program, still be enrolled, or transfer to another college by the following fall. CFCC: 2005 = 70% 2006 = 63% 2007 = 65% 2008 = 70% 2009 = 73%

16 √ 8. Business/Industry Satisfaction with Services Provided Standard: 90% of the businesses/industries surveyed will report satisfaction with CFCC services. CFCC: 2006 = 100% 2007 = 99% 2008 = 93% 2009 = 94%

17 NCCCS Results 2006-2007, 39 colleges achieved the “Superior” ranking and received Performance Funding 2007-2008, 7 colleges achieved the “Exceptional” ranking and received Performance Funding 2008-2009, 11 colleges received “Recognition of Exceptional Institutional Performance”
