2.  Question: How can we improve working conditions in Southeast Asia provided by American-owned companies?  Statement: American company owners should improve working conditions in Southeast Asia.

3.  The minimum wage of Southeast Asia was roughly $5.00 a day, as of 1999.  We found that Nike paid their workers $28.85 which converts to less than a dollar a day.  The minimum pay per hour was bout 36 cents yet Nike paid between 19 and 33 cents per hour.  A contractor for Nike has also been caught hiring 13 year old girls.

4.  Using Nike as an example, we have found:  Child labor is still used today in Southeast Asia  Workers are paid unfairly  They have been treated unfairly, ex: beating  Some workers are forced to work in damaging environments ▪ They have lost fingers and other limbs due to dangerous machines ▪ And they have been exposed to hazardous chemicals

5.  Factories were the main source for jobs in this time  Workers were often beaten for not cooperating  They were paid extremely poorly  Child labor was very abundant  Many children's lives were ruined due to the poor conditions they were forced to work under
