2. Remember Storm Country? Let’s reflect on what we did last week First, I asked you to find examples of figurative language in Storm Country and you did that without a problem on your own mostly. But then…You were asked to look at the examples of figurative language closely to find a pattern. Many of you, seemed to ignore that direction and sped off looking for an answer to the “effect” column. You found that it was pretty difficult to do that. You realized that you couldn’t explain how these similes or metaphors connected to a pattern you hadn’t determined yet. Today, you are going to practice looking for a pattern of figurative language in a poem or song. But I think it’s important to once again review what I mean when I ask you to find a pattern of figurative language.
