2 What you will learn: The difference between a point-and-shoot camera and a DSLR How to do a photo-shoot The settings on the camera Photography and art terminology How to operate Adobe Photoshop

3 Vocabulary Perspective- A literal or mental point of view. Composition-The act of combining parts or elements to form a whole. (aka-your arrangement or layout) Texture- the visual and esp. tactile quality of a surface: rough texture. Silhouette- a dark image outlined against a lighter background.

4 Vocabulary Cont. Contrast- the relative difference between light and dark areas. The Rule Of Thirds- The rule states that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections.

5 Your Assignment Your assignment is to go on a photo-shoot and take six photos that meet these requirements: Photo #1-Perspective Photo #2- Lighting Photo #3- Texture Photo #4- The Rule Of Thirds Photo #5- Silhouette Photo #6- Contrast

6 Afterwards After the photo-shoot every individual person should have their own six photos. We will be going to the computer lab in the near future to work on your photos in Adobe Photoshop.

34 RULES Treat all cameras with respect. Always wear the photo strap around your neck when the camera is with you. Do NOT break any school rules while taking pictures on your photo-shoot. Do NOT leave the campus/hang from railing/damage school property/ throw gang signs/flip the camera off/or remove any clothing!!!
