2 Orienting Yourself to Key Changes The ACE Provider Contract is comprised of: The Contract aligned to Smart and Skilled ACE Operating Guidelines aligned to Smart and Skilled Activity Schedule includes your Initial Delivery Target, GST information & any special conditions Letter of Offer No deadline for return of signed contract. 3 Board / Management Committee Important Changes All members of your Board/Committee must read and understand the Contract, Letter of Offer and Activity Schedule sign the Ethical Statement provide personal contact information to STS (for emergency contact) ACE Professional Conversations Sydney, November 2014

4 Quality and Monitoring Reviewed Monitoring Strategy Coordinate with S&S Financial viability Governance Student eligibility for ACE CSO funded training

5 Regional & Remote Funded Delivery All Providers’ Activity Schedule Initial Target specifies Disadvantaged delivery only Providers classified as Regional & Remote can vary their Initial Target up to 40% for delivery to non-Disadvantaged Regional & Remote students ACE Professional Conversations Sydney, November 2014

6 Regional & Remote Funded Delivery... IMPORTANT Non-Disadvantaged Regional and Remote students must have identified barrier(s) to accessing their Smart & Skilled Entitlement Training can include – Full Qualifications – approved by STS – Part Qualifications – responding to local needs

7 Regional & Remote Funded Delivery... Be aware that Proportionalities exist between Regional and Remote and Disadvantaged Student delivery an increase in R&R non-Disadvantaged will mean an increase in Target Commencements# Use the Target Calculator to model adjusted Student commencements

8 Unique student identifier (USI) All funded delivery requires a USI Under legislation no USI required for non accredited delivery For ACE CSO use the USI generated for a student’s accredited delivery to report their non accredited CSO training delivery ACE Professional Conversations Sydney, November 2014

9 ACE Consumer Protection Policy vs Smart & Skilled requirements You must develop and implement a consumer feedback and complaints process that is AVAILABLE; ACCESSIBLE & EXPLICIT Identify a designated Consumer Protection Officer including contact details the Policy should be in line with ASQA requirements, Smart & Skilled Consumer Protection Strategy and ACE Provider Contract ACE Professional Conversations Sydney, November 2014

10 The Importance of Community Engagement to ACE Industry networks and partnerships are required by Smart and Skilled ACE CSO Program also includes community networks and partnerships Community engagement differentiates ACE from other RTO’s ACE Professional Conversations Sydney, November 2014

11 Quality Training Provisions Independent Validation of Assessment requirements are the same as Smart and Skilled Professional Development and Continuous Improvement generally the same as Smart and Skilled except ACE must include Governance Professional Development for Boards/Management Committees ACE Professional Conversations Sydney, November 2014

12 Recordkeeping All CSO Funded Training must comply with Operating Guidelines Sec. 12.7 Required Length of time is 3 years NCVER – all copies of records used in NCVER audit must be kept for 6 months following an audit ASQA – Government Funded Training & Assessment Recordkeeping requirements take precedence ACE Professional Conversations Sydney, November 2014

13 Training Activity Data In 2015 ACE Providers will continue to submit Total ACE Activity data through OLiV CSO funded training data must use codes: Data is to be submitted quarterly - but will not be validated until the annual collection in January ACE Professional Conversations Sydney, November 2014 Target GroupData Code CSO DisadvantagedCSD CSO Regional & RemoteCSR

16 CSO and Delivery of Foundation Skills Full Qualifications Creative thinking needed if you have received minimal funds for Foundation Skills Entitlement for instance – Commence students in CSO, target one or two students for full qual foundation skills – Collaborate with other ACE organisations – Track students who are ready to pathway to Foundation Skills Entitlement to establish demand levels – Other ideas?
