2 Smart Supports Team Smart Supports are a team based in East Ayrshire, which was set up in October 2013. The team is comprised of 5 team members, with two people having an AHP background. Smart Supports can allow a person to stay in their own home and feel safe.

6 And even more…….. Buddi Buddi harnesses the latest in satellite navigation technology to pinpoint a wearer’s location, and a mobile phone network to communicate between the Buddi and a 24/7 emergency monitoring centre. Registered contacts, such as family members, friends or neighbours, are then alerted automatically via landline or mobile phone. Just Checking Movement sensors in the home generate a chart of daily living activity, which can be viewed online by family members, professionals etc. Just Checking gives an up- to-the-minute picture as a person gets on with their daily life, all without being intrusive or depriving them of their privacy.

8 What we did... Installed Just Checking to monitor routines/activity within the home. To see if there was evidence of the perceived risks.

14 So what is the next step? Ambulance service. Having access to acute meetings to look at quicker access to telecare. Qualitative evaluation feedback. Continuing to spread the word of thinking differently.
