2 Business and Technologies Mission Statement In a rapidly evolving career and technical education landscape, the mission of the Business and Technologies division is to provide students with relevant and current learning in viable career pathways. To meet this mission, Business and Technologies actively networks with the local community and businesses and works to articulate programs with other colleges and universities. Faculty are committed to providing a rich learning environment to empower students as 21 st century workforce citizens.

9 Division Trends The division realized an increase of 1,947 Student Credit Hours in FY 06-07, an 11% increase, helping offset enrollment declines in other areas. B&T is offering approx. 17% more classes in Fall 07 from final Fall 06. 214 classes in 07, compared to 183 in F06.

10 Division Trends Currently, enrollment is up by 4% Primary areas of additional classes is dual credit, growth in Business (entrepreneurship) and new programs—Environmental Technologies, Facility Technologies Business enrollments up 38% from same time last year Areas of decline include Criminal Justice, Computer Science

11 Division Trends, Cont. Cohort of 100 + students enrolling in college-level Introduction to Engineering Design at Capital and Santa Fe High Schools, underscoring emphasis in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Division emphasis in career pathway advisement and learning

14 Partnership for Innovation Bond passage brings unlimited potential for program opportunities. To realize this potential B&T will:  Continue to capitalize on strong working relationship with Continuing Education and Customized Training to bring an Advanced Technology Center to fruition  Be the campus leader in planning, researching, and advancing the new trades and ATC facility and the programs that will be centered there.
