3  Dr. Wernicke had six patients with the same disorder  They couldn’t understand language  They retained the ability to comprehend grammar and articulation  He discovered through autopsy the are causing the disorder that is now known as Wernicke’s area

4  How would you be affected if someone in your family developed Wernicke’s Aphasia?  How do you think it would feel to not be able to comprehend language?  What activities that you participate in during your daily life could potentially cause an accident leading to this disorder?  Do you think that this disorder would make certain things in your life impossible or are there ways to circumvent these disadvantages?  Was Wernicke’s study ethical? Why/why not?
