2 Mission Statement: Safeguarding Aim Chaplains working with children and adults at risk should demonstrate the capacity to build and sustain professional boundaries and appropriate relationships with children, adults at risk, colleagues and other professionals in sport. This will establish a safer working environment which will protect children other at risk groups, and reduce the risk of chaplains being falsely accused of improper or unprofessional conduct

Child is anyone U18 Clarify : What is your role and responsibility in safeguarding? Identify: Who is your designated person for safeguarding? 5 How to protect yourself: Maintain professional boundaries - avoid over familiarity Maintain the dignity of those you are working with Work within the remit of your role and qualifications Have an up to date DBS check Follow your code of conduct and Safeguarding Policy guidance Work in an open environment Ensure you are in sight of colleague(s) Refer any concerns to the Safeguarding Team at the club 3 Rs: Respond to the disclosure/suspicion/allegation Record the relevant information Report the relevant information Ask for advice from Sports Chaplaincy UK Safeguarding
