5 Where does Photosynthesis take place?
Takes place in the CHLOROPLAST thylakoids: Location of Light Reaction Absorbs sunlight using chlorophyll (pigment that reflects green light) Stroma: Compare to cytoplasm of cell. Jelly-like substance that surrounds thylakoid Location of Calvin Cycle thylakoids Stroma Grana = stack of thylakoids

Light Reaction Calvin Cycle (AKA Dark Reaction). Two reactions are connected through ATP NADPH Each fuels the other

8 The light reaction: First stage of photosynthesis- chlorophyll absorbs light energy
