2 Sarva Sikhya Abhiyan Sarva Sikhya Abhiyan (SSA) started in the year which is a comprehensive and integrated flagship programme of the Govt. of India that aims to attain universalization of Elementary Education (UEE) in the country. Broad Objectives Universal Access Universal Enrollment Universal Retention Bridge all social and gender gaps at elementary level

3 National Programme for Education of Girls’ at Elementary Level
National Programme for Education of Girls’ at Elementary Level (NPEGEL) is a Scheme for providing additional components for education of Girls’ NPEGEL. NPEGEL is applicable for the Educationally Backward Blocks (EBB). EBB means where the level of rural female literacy is less than the national average and gender gap is above national average. In Keonjhar District the female literacy is 30.01% which is much below than national literacy rate & SC/ST people constitute 56.01% of total population. 11 Blocks of Keonjhar District are coming under EBB Blocks.

4 KASTURBA GANDHI BALIKA VIDYALAYA
KGBV is a Scheme approved by Govt. of India with a view to bridge the gender gap in literacy in the EBB. KGBV is the residential schools set up in the EBB blocks to ensure access to quality education and to mainstream the dropout and overage girls of disadvantaged groups of society.

Access Providing Primary Schooling facilities in 1Km Radius having 40 Children in Non-TSP area Providing Primary Schooling facilities in 1Km Radius having 25 Children in TSP Area Providing Upper Primary Schooling facilities in 3 Km Radius Provision of Additional Classrooms

6 Strategies for Achieving SSA Objectives
Quality Attractive teaching learning system Training on activity-based learning, joyful teaching & play way method. Emphasis on use of teaching aids, Action songs, story telling & dramatization etc. Continuous & comprehensive evaluation system should be introduced. Analysis of Unit test result and sharing with concerned subject teachers Concurrent and Continuous Evaluation system Training of Teachers on Themes Like Right To Education (RTE) National Curriculum Framework (NCF), Concurrent and Continuous Evaluation system (CCE)

13 ST/SC Intervention Name of the Activity Objective
Multilingual Education To address the disadvantage group children using mother tongue in Early school Stage which is different form School Language. Begins with mother tongue (L1, home language) as a medium of instruction and builds good bridges to other languages, while maintaining the use of L1 for as long as possible. In Keonjhar district “Juanga”& “Santhal” Language identified for adoption of Multilingual Education. SRUJAN Cluster approach to Tribal Education SRUJAN is an integrated cluster based programme in which the community, children, teachers, tribal youths, field functionaries are to be actively involved for ensuring access and retention. Based on the concept of National Curriculum Framework -2005
