Computer Software Engineers have been known as Computer Programmers in the past and depending on the company they work for will depend on what they are called currently © UNT in partnership with TEA2

Computer Software Engineers work towards designing, creating, modifying, analyzing, and implementing software that will help us in our everyday life, and for those that work in specialized fields such as medicine © UNT in partnership with TEA3

They need to be creative problem solvers and be able to communicative effectively with other people © UNT in partnership with TEA4

They usually graduate college with a degree in computer science, but some are not graduating with a degree in software engineering © UNT in partnership with TEA5

Computer Software Engineers work with Computer Hardware Engineers to design, create, evaluate, and implement computers for our everyday use, as well as creating the computers that go into cars, automobiles, cash registers, ATM machines, global position systems, and others items © UNT in partnership with TEA6

There are two branches of computer software engineers. One branch is computer applications software engineers. They are the ones that design, construct, and maintain computer programs. They can design and develop a program for one person or for several people based on what is needed © UNT in partnership with TEA7

Sometimes, the computer software engineers have to work more than 40 hours per week if they have deadlines or if a problem arises with their project © UNT in partnership with TEA9

They also might travel some if they work for vendors, as independent contractors, or for companies that require them to travel © UNT in partnership with TEA10

Computer Software Engineers are always looking at the present for ways to improve the current software and looking forward to the future for ways to enhance it © UNT in partnership with TEA11
