3 Retirement contribution is 7.00% of an employee’s gross wages and the State is currently paying 7.00% as a fringe benefit Two funds available within the WRS: ◦ Core Fund: 60% stocks, 40% fixed income and other assets ◦ Variable Fund: 100% stocks ◦ All contributions are invested in Core Fund unless you file a Variable Fund election to send 50% of contributions to Variable Fund Earliest age to retire is 55 years old, 50 years old for Protective Employees. Normal retirement age is 65 years old Five year vesting requirement if hired on or after July 1, 2011 and have no WRS creditable service prior to July 1, 2011. Immediately vested if you have WRS service prior to July 1, 2011 Annual statements are received in April each year UW-L Human Resources
