The Passover is near Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. Jn 6:4

1. Philip’s Mind What we do not have is not enough Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.” Jn 6:7

( St. Ambrose) We should rather resort to faith that lightens our heavy burdens !

2. Andrew’s Mind What we have is not Enough One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, 9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?” Jn 6:8,9

(St. John Chrysostom) God calls us, then waits for us to approach Him with all our free will, to grant us every help.

3. When we tell him about what we have …! Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.”..Jn 6:10 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Ps 23:5

4. Full satisfaction for All And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. Jn 6:11

5. Nothing is Lost So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” Jn 6:12

6. Testimony Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” Jn 6:14

(St. Augustine) Open up their eyes, O Lord, to behold You, and be amazed by the beauty of Your truth, to hasten to run and worship You.
