Level-1: Operation in the different channels (e.g. DFS, TPC) Communicating devices using 802.11a or HiperLAN2 can operate in the same coverage area by using different channels. Level-1: Any Wireless Terminal can talk to any AP Communicating devices using 802.11a or HiperLAN2 can exchange data using a single AP Does not need any further modifications to the standards beyond those in Level-2 Coexistence. Any wireless terminal can talk to any AP or any Wireless Terminal Communicating devices using 802.11a or HiperLAN2 can exchange data directly on a ad- hoc basis Level-2: Operation in the same channel Communicating devices using 802.11a or HiperLAN2 can operate in the same coverage area using a standardized mechanism that enables devices of both types to share the same channel.
