2 Questions Focus Question:
How does a Tsunami change the surface of our earth ? Subsidiary Questions: What is a natural disaster? What are the main causes of a tsunami? Description of how a tsunami functions. Where does a tsunami occur mostly and why? What are the main effects of a Tsunami? Can a Tsunami be predicted? And, if so how? What can we do to stay safe from a Tsunami?

3 What is a natural disaster?
A natural disaster is caused by natural forces. Some natural disasters are caused by weather like a tornado and a hurricane. Some natural disasters are started at the center of the earth like a earthquake, volcano, and a tsunami. A Natural Disaster is an event of force or nature with enormous consequences.

4 What are the main causes of a tsunami?
There is 2 ways a tsunami can occur. If a major earthquake or landslide occurs around a seashore then that creates a giant wave which slams on to the shore. A tsunami can also come from a underwater earthquake. Here is a video that explains more:

5 Description of How a Tsunami Functions
A tsunami is a set of giant waves that layer on top of each other and send water surges. Tsunami’s come from earthquakes that start in the middle of the ocean. Once the waves start they don’t stop until they hit the shore. It creates a circle of waves. This picture shows a circle of waves and how they spread until they hit shore.

6 Where does a Tsunami occur mostly and why?
Most Tsunami’s occur in Pacific Ocean because the “Ring of Fire” an active volcano which is close by the Pacific Ocean. The “Ring of Fire” causes most of the Tsunami’s in Pacific Ocean. Here is a video that shows what it looks like when a underwater volcano causes a tsunami:

7 What are the main effects of a Tsunami?
The main effect of a tsunami is humanity. People loose family and friends from Tsunami's. Tsunami's destroy shelter and proper built structures. What if a 100 foot wave was coming right on top of you or surging toward you. It’s happened to people before and many of those people have not survived. Before a after a Tsunami Tsunami

8 Can a Tsunami be predicted? And, if so how?
Since a earthquake can not be predicted, scientist do not know when a tsunami will happen. A tsunami comes from a underwater earthquake, so if Humanity can feel the underwater earthquake then they know they have 30 seconds to prepare for a tsunami. Other then that scientist cant predict a tsunami before the underwater earthquake.

9 What can we do to stay safe from a Tsunami?
Before and during a Tsunami: Make sure you know your community’s safety route, so you can get to there shelter until everything is “all clear.” Be prepared to survive on your own for ATLEAST 3 days. Stay away from the beach and do not go down to the beach to watch the Tsunami. Move into higher ground and stay there. After a Tsunami: Stay away from flooded and destructed areas. Help injured or trapped people. Don’t move seriously injured people, but call for an official to come and help. Stay out of buildings and area’s if there is water around it.

10 Conclusion: How does a Tsunami change the surface of our earth???
A tsunami is a natural disaster that is caused by an earthquake, volcano or landslide. If a major earthquake or landslide occurs around a seashore then that creates a giant wave which slams on to the shore. A tsunami is a set of giant waves that layer on top of each other and send water surges. Tsunami’s come from earthquakes that start in the middle of the ocean. Once the waves start they don’t stop until they hit the shore. It creates a circle of waves. A tsunami changes the part of earth’s surface that we walk on. The tsunami’s waves can be at least 100 feet tall. Tsunami’s cause lots of Destruction on our earth’s surface. Tsunami’s mostly occur in the Pacific Ocean because of the “Ring Of Fire.” The Ring of fire is a active volcano. Tsunami’s Don’t just happen in the Pacific Ocean because of the Ring Of Fire, but because of the underwater earthquakes.
