2Peter 1:12-15

I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.

I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder,

And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.

I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder,

to wake fully, i.e. arouse (lit. or fig.):--arise, awake, raise, stir up Strong to wake up, awaken, arouse (from sleep) of the sea, which begins to be agitated, to rise metaphorically to arouse the mind; stir up, render active Thayer

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.

I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder, since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked. For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened--not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go. (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, "Follow me."

And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.

an exit, that is, (figuratively) death: - decease, departing. Strong exit, i.e. departure the close of one’s career, one’s final fate departure from life, decease Thayer

By faith Joseph, at the end of his life, made mention of the exodus of the Israelites and gave directions concerning his bones.

Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.

And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self- control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.

For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
