JAMES 5:7-11 Adding Steadfastness

What Endurance Means The Greek word is “hypomonen,” literally meaning “staying under,” like a heavy load Because we know where it comes from – Rom. 5:1-5 This is not indifference; it is staying power in times of trial Based on our hope – Rom. 15:2-6

Those Who Face Persecution Already have faith, virtue, knowledge, and self- control Christians taking a stand for the truth – 2 Thess. 1:3-4 Because of what light does – 2 Cor. 4:2-6 Following the example of Jesus – Heb. 12:1-3

The End Result Paul pointed this out – 1 Pet. 1:6-9 Our faith will be strengthened! We will learn to trust in God and lean on Him in times of distress – Phil. 4:10-13 Because we have full assurance of our faith – Heb. 10: 32-39

Conclusion Patience, endurance, steadfastness; whatever word you want to use, they all mean the same thing in 2 Peter 1:6. And it is essential to the life of a Christian. Endure & overcome adversity, otherwise it will crush your faith and cost you your soul!
