7 We want children and young people with SEND to be happy and successful in their early years, at school and at college, to achieve the best that they can, find employment and go on to live happy and fulfilled adult lives. We want children and young people with SEND and their families to have choice and control over their support to instil confidence and trust across the system. Shared Vision for a Better Future

8 Children and young people with SEND are as likely to enter full-time education, employment or training when they leave school as their peers Young adults with SEND for whom it is appropriate can secure appropriate living arrangements Wherever possible young adults with SEND are able to be financially independent Children with SEND are no more likely to be excluded from school, or placed in alternative provision than other children Measures of Success

9 Children, young people, parent carers and education providers consistently express confidence and trust in how we meet SEND in Swindon Very few parents and carers need to seek formal mediation or recourse to SEND tribunal Children with SEND make good or outstanding progress The attainment gap for children with SEND is lower than in most other areas Children with SEND have good attendance Measures of Success
