4 JOHN ADAMS American politician the second president of the US two terms – being the first Vice President one of the most influential Founding Fathers of the United States

5 THOMAS JEFFERSON the third presidentof the US the principal author of the Declaration of Independence – 1776 one of the most influential Founding Fathers for his promotion of the ideals of republicanism in the US

6 JAMES MADISON American politician and philosopher Father of the constitution – principal author of the document

7 JAMES MONROE his administration was marked by the acquisition of Florida – 1819 the Missouri Compromise (1820) – Missouri was declared a slave state the admission of Maine as a free state - 1820

8 JOHN QUINCY ADAMS American diplomat served in senate and House of Representatives member of the Federalist, Democratic- Republican, National Republican, Anti- Masonic and Whig parties
