Luke 7:36-39

Morality In America:  The Barna Group – tracks moral trends through statistical analysis.

Morality In America:  Less view the Bible as a sacred book today.  Only 30% of younger generation believes the Bible’s principles are accurate.  Most of the newest generation believes the Bible’s teachings are the same as other sacred books.  They are also less likely to read the Bible.  Fewer than 20% want to increase their Bible knowledge.

Morality In America:  Younger generation twice as likely to engage in immoral behavior.  Nine times more likely to engage in sex outside marriage.  Six times more likely to have lied.  Three times more likely to have gotten drunk.  Three times more likely to have gossiped.  Twice as likely to have viewed pornography.  Twice as likely to retaliate.

Morality In America:  “CHRISTIAN” STATISTICS:  40% agreed strongly Satan is not a living being.  22% strongly agreed Jesus sinned on earth.  Most do not believe the Holy Spirit is living.  Some did not believe a person must either side with God or the devil.

Sins Easy For Us To Hate:  Sin that is foreign to us.  Hab 1:12 Are you not from everlasting, O LORD my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O LORD, you have ordained them as a judgment, and you, O Rock, have established them for reproof. You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong, why do you idly look at traitors and remain silent when the wicked swallows up the man more righteous than he?

Sins Easy For Us To Hate:  Sin that personally affects us.  Hebrews 11:24-25 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.

Sins Easy For Us To Hate:  Sin that enslaves us.  Rom 7:15 For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.  Rom 7:19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.

We Must Learn To Hate ALL Sin!  Psa 97:10 O you who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.  Amo 5:15 Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

We Must Learn To Hate ALL Sin!  Rom 12:9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

We Know We Hate Sin When...  We Hate All Sin.  We’re Not Participating In It, Matthew 6:24.  We’re Active Against It.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6  For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.

Romans 12:9-11  Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
