4. 1. Collection of Data
Data can be collected physically using paper forms.
Data can be collected Electronically through a computer.
These could include:
Application Forms, Registration Forms, Questioners, Interviews, Observations, Discussions, Online – WebPages.

5. 2. Storage of Data
Data needs to be organised so that it will be easy to retrieve.
What are the advantages of storing data electronically?
Data can be stored electronically (Video Tape, Cassette, Disks) or on paper (Archives, A4 Files).
Remember, the protection of the data is just as important.

6. 3. Processing and Manipulation of Data
The type of data and how it will be used determines how it is processed.
Calculations can be done on data that contains some numbers.
Data with numbers or text can be sorted, categorised or manipulated (I.e. databases).
