How many boxes are empty? This is called a 10 frame. It has room for ten things. How many apples are in this frame? 8 2

Let’s try another one. How many apples do you see? Let’s put them in a 10 frame. How many apples are in the 10 frame? How many boxes are empty? 4 6

Now you’re going to play a game with 10 frames. Spin the spinner. Place that number of markers on your 10 frame. Count how many boxes are empty and move your playing piece that many spaces. 12 3 4 5 6 7 8 Follow the apple path back to the apple tree. Start Finish
