Work Interests People in this group like jobs where they discover, collect, and study facts about the natural world. They use their knowledge of science, math, engineering, and technology to solve problems or improve how things are done.

Group 2: Subgroups Managerial Work People in this subgroup direct and supervise the work activities of research scientists, engineers, and other workers in all subgroups of Science, Math, and Engineering.  Physical Sciences People in this subgroup generally work with things like chemicals, rocks, and metals. They also study the movement of the earth and stars. Laboratory Technology People in this subgroup perform tests in laboratories in fields like chemistry, biology, and physics. They record information from their test, so it can be used.

Group 2: Subgroups  Social Sciences People in this subgroup gather, study, and analyze information about human behavior. They may study individuals, small and large groups, and even whole societies of people. They study people and societies in the past and those that exist now.  Life Sciences People in this subgroup do research and run experiments to learn more about plants, animals, and other living things. They use this knowledge to improve animal and plant species or to preserve the environment.  Engineering People in this subgroup plan, design, and build bridges, buildings, roads, airports, and many other things. They use scientific principles to develop ways to do their work. They usually specialize in one kind of engineering, such as civil, electrical and electronic, mechanical, mining, or safety  Engineering Technology - People in this subgroup perform many technical activities to support engineering projects. They might make detailed drawings of land and water. Other work might include inspecting buildings and equipment to make sure they are safe.

Group 2: Subgroups  Mathematics and Computers People in this subgroup do research and solve problems using advanced math, statistics, and computer programs. Some do work where they decide how computers can be used the best to solve problems or process information.  Engineering People in this subgroup plan, design, and build bridges, buildings, roads, airports, and many other things. They use scientific principles to develop ways to do their work. They usually specialize in one kind of engineering, such as civil, electrical and electronic, mechanical, mining, or safety

Where would I work? People in this group work in places such as: colleges and universities; factories and plants; water, light, and power plants; mines and quarries; business and government offices and computer centers; farms and forests; zoos and aquariums; animal hospitals and laboratories; hospitals and nursing homes; and construction sites.

Web Developer  Web Developers handle the technical tasks of building a website. They plan the framework. They also work with programming tools.  You need a four year college education.  You should expect to earn $30,000 to $100,000.

Chemical Engineer  Chemical Engineers take scientific principles and apply them to practical situations.  You need a four year college education  You should expect to make $54,000 to $130,000.

Marine Biologist  Work involves independent work and other work with other professional marine biologist  You need a four year college education.  You should expect to earn $35,000 to $100,000.

Geologist  Geologists are scientists who study the history and structure of the earth’s crust, as well as the rocks, minerals, and fossils.  You need a four year college education.  You should expect to earn $44,000 to $161,000,
