2 Non-belligerent Country refuses to fight on someone’s side during the conflict. May not be completely neutral.

3 Collaborationism Come together and help that side A.Actually fight along side them B.Give them supplies, weapons, food C.Passive: do nothing. Accept that they have been conquered and go on with their way of life.

4 Co-belligerent Comes in and fights during the conflict without having any formal agreement. Want something out of it in the event they win. Example: Finland helped Germans fight against Soviets because they hoped to gain independence from the Soviet Union.

5 Puppet State An outside country has put a government in place and that outside country directs the affairs in that country. Example: WWII- Germany made Hungary a puppet state. Today: US and Iraq?

6 Axis Powers Berlin-Tokyo-Rome Axis Pact- Germany, Japan, Italy (1939) *Where they get the name Axis Powers

7 Axis Powers Tripartite Pact- (Nov. 1941) Hungary Romania Slovak Republic (Part Soviet Union) Bulgaria (1941) Yugoslavia (for only 2 days-then switch to Allies after coup overthrows leader) Croatia (April 1941) Thailand (Ally but Japan invaded after Pearl Harbor)
