4 Publisher – Lesson 2 Microsoft Office 2003: Introductory Pasewark & Pasewark 4 Creating a Brochure and a Newsletter Publisher allows you to easily create a brochure or newsletter with built-in templates. From the New from a design section of the New Publication task pane, choose Publications for Print and select your template. Text frames and pictures in the template can be deleted and replaced with information that fits your project.

5 Publisher – Lesson 2 Microsoft Office 2003: Introductory Pasewark & Pasewark 5 Entering Text A panel heading is the area provided for titles or headings of a project. The page navigator allows you to move quickly from one page to another. Once a text box has been selected, the text can be manipulated to fit the project.

6 Publisher – Lesson 2 Microsoft Office 2003: Introductory Pasewark & Pasewark 6 Adding Design Gallery Objects to a Project Design Gallery objects are ready-made objects that you can quickly insert into a project. Design Gallery objects include calendars, advertisements, coupons, reply forms, and more. From the Design Gallery Objects list, choose your feature and click the Insert Object button. You can view your projects easily by clicking the Zoom In button.

7 Publisher – Lesson 2 Microsoft Office 2003: Introductory Pasewark & Pasewark 7 Adding Color and Pictures to a Project Adding artwork and photographs to a project can make it more professional. Clip art is built into Microsoft Publisher and can be added to any template. Once an object is placed into a publication, it can be resized, rotated, or flipped to fit your project.

8 Publisher – Lesson 2 Microsoft Office 2003: Introductory Pasewark & Pasewark 8 Inserting Text from a Word Document Copying and pasting text from Word Documents into Publisher projects will speed the process in producing professional-looking documents. Once a Publisher project has been designed, minimize the project. Open the Word document and highlight the needed text. Right-click and choose Copy. Minimize Word and maximize Publisher. Right- click and select Paste. The Word text appears.

You can enter your own text or insert text from a Word Document. Adding pictures and color to brochures and newsletters will personalize your projects and make it look professional.
