The History of FCCLA February, 1917 – Smith Hughes Act signed supporting vocational education June, 1945 – Future Homemakers of America founded in Chicago, IL October, 1946 – Arkansas received its charter becoming the 37th state association of Future Homemakers of America July, 1965 – Future Homemakers of America and New Homemakers of America merged May, 1971 – HERO Chapters were established July, 1999 – Future Homemakers of America changed their name to Family, Career and Community Leaders of America 1.6

Taking or have taken a Family & Consumer Science Class up to 12th Grade Pay the yearly dues
