Employers Responsibility Employers are responsible for providing multiple access and exit points in the occurrence of a fire. They are required to insure that all employees know where the access and exit points are. They are responsible for making sure that the employees know the fire rules and regulations.
Additional Responsibilities The final emergency exit doors must open outwards and not be sliding or revolving. Emergency lighting to cover the exit routes where necessary. Fire fighting equipment, fire alarms and where necessary fire detectors.

It is then the responsibility of the employer to make sure that there is another exit route available and that all employees are aware of it.
