5.  Landing your first full-time job is part of entering a new life stage.  Life Stage:  A period in your physical and emotional journey through life.  Life Stages During Your Career:  Adolescence  Early Adulthood  Middle Adulthood

6.  Before deciding to have a place of your own, weigh the advantages and disadvantages of living at home.  Things to consider:  Living at home is less expensive that living independently.  A sense of pride and responsibility accompany having your own place.  Having your own place is very time consuming.  If you live on your own you may need to find a roommate to help with costs.

7.  Prepare a budget to help you estimate how much it will cost for you to live on your own to help you locate places you can afford.  Your budget should include:  Rent  Utilities  Telephone  Cable  Food

8.  When you rent a property you will need to fill out a rental application.  The manager will check your financial history to see whether you will be a good tenant.  If you are approved, you will sign a rental agreement or a lease.  When you sign your lease, you will probably need to pay a security deposit.  Security Deposit:  Money you pay to cover any damage you might cause to the property.

9.  Create a comfortable home  Establish good housekeeping habits:  Develop a system for paying bills on time.  Set aside time each work for housekeeping.  Develop good habits.  Leant to cook healthful meals.
