IPA, Germany- coordinator Centro Ricerche Fiat Società Consortile per Azioni CRF Italy Swiss Federal Laboratories for Material Testing and Research EMPA Swiss Hans Wälischmiller GmbH HWM Germany Materialise N.V. MAT Belgium Metris N.V. MET Belgium Bombardier-Rotax GmbH ROT Austria Technical University of Cluj- Napoca - TUCN Romania Tomo Adour TA France University of Bologna UBO Italy Objectives: The main project objectives are to develop new basic hardware components and algorithms for fast and accurate 3D-CT scanning for parts of any complexity and large dimensions, new algorithms for automated CT image processing, fast surface and solid modeling as well as methodologies for the integration of the new technologies into the rapid product development and manufacturing processes. A next generation CT prototype will be set up for validation and testing. A particular attention will also be given to make these new technologies well known to the key European industries. Expected impact - Creation and development of a durable cooperation model between research and industry allowing a coherent and flexible knowledge transfer from both parts. - Knowledge transfer to an increased number of SMEs, companies, universities and research centers both from EU and PAC members. - High efficiency of the dissemination expressed by the number of the target group members (from the quantitative point of view) and by the innovative degree of knowledge generated in the project (from the qualitative point of view). - Improving the education of Virtual Engineering specialists TUCN/CERMI contribution -know-how and experience in the following areas of interest: RE, CAD Systems (testing and validation), collaboration in developing standards and regulations, transfer of knowledge through training programs (E- DETECT, TRAINING-DETECT, DEMO- DETECT) and dissemination. The training skills and abilities obtained in the frame of TEMPUS and LEONARDO programs are complementary to the specialization of the consortium members. The development and application of the Dissemination by Involvement concept using information stored in a database, organization of workshops, and the use of the Internet support, will allow the know-how transfer to and from the members of the target group (especially SMEs) Proposing educational services and consulting in the fields of: -Measurements and control of 2D and 3D geometrical features using tactile, optical and laser coordinate measuring systems; - Automation of measurement processes using image acquisition and processing techniques; - CAD Systems; - Reverse Engineering. The modern endowment consists of high precision measurement machines and devices, computers and software for engineering design Technical University of Cluj-Napoca - TUCN Romania CERMI – Regional Center for Industrial Metrology Specific Targeted Research Project (STRP) Priority 3 - NMP Research area: 3.4.3.1-2 "New and simplified production equipment and technologies, and their incorporation into the factory of the future" Professor Bulgaru MariusSenior Lecturer Lucia Ioana Bolboaca Ph.
