Reggio is the seat, since 1907, of the Archeological Superintendence of Bruttium and Lucania. The city has two recently founded universities: the "Mediterranea" University, and the "Università per Stranieri" (University for Foreigners). There are also an Academy of Fine Arts (opened in 1967) and a Conservatory of Music (founded in 1927). Bagnara Bagnara is on the Tyrrhenian sea and it is one of the most wonderful sea-resort of the “VIOLET COAST “.

It is renowned for the swordfish fishing that occurs between April and June, the period in which the fish spawns in the Strait. In the past the swordfish fishing was practiced with small wooden boats in the middle of which there was a lineup used to spot the fish. Once spotted the fish, they proceeded to its capture. This method dates back to Phoenician times.

Monument to Nosside- Locri The “Riviera dei Gelsomini”, along the Ionian south coast, leads us in the Greek Calabrian heart, discovering Locri Epizephyrii — the most important Calabrian and Archaeological Park of Gerace. The name ’Costa dei Gelsomini’, along the Ionian coast of Calabria, owes its name to the abundance of this scented flower from which you get essences and distillates. Jasmines)
