2. What is Plagiarism? Plagiarism is the act of taking another person's writing, conversation, song, or even idea and passing it off as your own. This includes information from web pages, books, songs, television shows, email messages, interviews, articles, artworks or any other medium. Whenever you paraphrase, summarize, or take words, phrases, or sentences from another person's work, it is necessary to indicate the source of the information within your paper using an internal citation. It is not enough to just list the source in a bibliography at the end of your paper. 5. ACADEMIC CHEATING

6. Is this cheating? Sally and Sue decide to work together on their Social Studies reading questions. Sally is a good student and does really well on her assignments, but reading is a struggle for Sue. Sue decides to allow Sally to find the answers and she writes them down after she agrees that the answer is correct. Sue does this for all of the reading comprehension questions.

7. Copying that is Cheating Copying another persons assignment when not told to directly do that is cheating. Allowing someone to copy your assignment for any reason then specifically told to you by a teacher is cheating. Working together to complete an assignment, such as homework, that is intended to evaluate what you know.

8. Solutions What can you do to help someone who is struggling and asking to copy your work? What if you don’t get the work?
