Prosthetics

What's available now Prosthetic arms that use shoulder movements to know when to grasp. Prosthetic arms with many ranges of motions controlled by underfoot remote Prosthetic legs that have accelerometers and other sensors that control the knee ankle and foot of the prosthetic depending on how it is being motioned.

Problems Many prosthetic legs forces users to hike their hip strangely. Arms lock when walking creating uneven swing. Motions like this means “Roughly 70 percent of amputees develop back and joint problems.” Brain Computer Interface(BCI) 125 milsec 40 for foot Invasive brain surgery Gait funny movements caused by the prosthetics

A leg you can feel Dime sized balloon fitted around the thigh. Fill as pressure is exerted in certain areas. People can sense how there prosthetic foot has been set down. This allows for better balancing and over time the ability to improve ones stride. Sensory substitution

What's to come Legs with better algorithms to make it easy and more natural to walk on. Mind controlled prosthetic arms are right now being researched at Johns Hopkins University under a grant from the US defense department for 100M. The “University of Pittsburgh Medical Center implanted two microelectrodes into the woman’s left motor cortex” Others have already been able to type or wright freehand through thought.

When light hits the chip with 1500 pixels on it electrical impulses are sent to the brain. Grainy Black and white size of a cd case held at arms length Prosthetic Eyes Retinitis Pigmentosa (destroys retina) Procedure fits a chip beneath the retina

Pure Crazziness Platform for inventions Sprinting 60 miles to work Navigating terrain impassable by vehicle Putting themselves out of business Bypassing nerves to make our own muscles react Limbs and organs will be Printed/grown Robotic Mind Controlled Hand
