4. + AISD SHAC 2010-2011 Goals and Accomplishments SHAC Grant: Secured grant funding from TEA and Region 13 Health Curriculum Review: Provided in-depth review of HealthTeacher.com Human Sexuality Education: Represented community and AISD policy in reviewing sex education programs Recess Policy: Studied recess policy and best-practices and submitted recommendation in best interest of teachers, students, school, and district. Social and Emotional Learning: Developed a recommendation for district policy and programming based on expert and community input Legislative Updates: Kept current with state legislative session and potential impact on district health and wellness programs Social Media: Established a plan to utilize social media to reach out to and inform broader segment of the community within district policies Food Service: Worked with foodservice department on specific issue of a la carte foods, as well as review of new healthy menu offerings AISD SHAC Annual Report, 2010-11
